Mother Seton, born 1774 died 1821. Founded first American religious community for women: the Sisters of Charity.
It was based upon the Rule St. Vincent de Paul had written for his Daughters of Charity in France.
Foundress - educator - wife and mother.
First native born citizen of USA to be canonized (1975).
