Blessed Nicholas Postgate, Priest, Doctor of Divinity.
Feast day 7th August observed in the RC Diocese of Middlesborough.
Born Egton Bridge Yorkshire c. 1599 martyred at York on 7th August 1679, deemed guilty of treason against King Charles II by reason of being a Catholic priest.
Aged almost 60 he returned as a priest to his native Yorkshire moors, 'Blackamoor' to minister on foot to the poor, showing great generosity of spirit to people regardless of their religion.
In 1987 Pope John Paul II declared him Blessed, among 85 martyrs of England and Wales.

Fire retardant: BS5867/Type B DIN4102. An extra depth of approx. 12" should be allowed when measuring to allow for the hanging cord. A sample of the material can be supplied upon request.
