Saint Bede the Venerable, Priest and Doctor of the Church.
A learned saint of the British Isles he lived, studied and died in
Northumbria and was honoured as a saint even during his lifetime, 673 -
735. Renowned as one of the greatest scholars of the Church he was
acquainted with the philosophical principles of Aristotle. A student of natural
philosophy, astronomy, arithmetic, grammar and Church history he
wrote extensively about the Lives of the Saints and Holy
Scripture.
His work: History of the Christian Churches in England is
considered one of the seminal works of Anglo-Saxon history and is considered
fundamental to the English national identity. Feast Day 25th May.
Bede died in 735 praying his favourite prayer: “Glory be to the
Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As in the beginning, so now,
and forever.”
Banner: Dye sublimation printing on a 100% close weave, natural feel polyester
material with dowling, tulip wood end caps and gold hanging cord. Fire
retardant: BS5867/Type B DIN4102. An extra depth of approx. 12"
should be allowed when measuring to allow for the hanging cord. A sample of the
material can be supplied upon request.
Floor standing Roller / Pull-up banner: These banners
have a self-winding cassette mechanism and extending support pole made from
durable anodised brushed aluminium. The banner size is 79" x 31.5" /
200cm x 80cm and printed on 180 micron matt-coated vinyl. Includes a free
padded carry bag to store your banner when not in use.
