Born 22nd September 1791, Newington Butts, London.
Died 25th August 1867, Hampton Court Palace, Richmond upon Thames.
He turned down a knighthood because of his Christian belief that it was
contrary to the bible to pursue riches or worldly reward.
Discovered
electromagnetic induction, the principle behind the electric transformer and
generator.
Discovered the principles underlying electrolysis.
Discovered benzene.

discoveries and their influence on the progress of science and of
industry,there is no honour too great to pay to the memory of Faraday, one of
the greatest scientific discoverers of all time." Ernest Rutherford.
Albert Einstein kept
pictures of his three scientific heroes in his study: Michael Faraday, Isaac
Newton and James Clerk Maxwell.
