Michael (meaning 'Who is like God') is one of three Archangels named in Sacred Scripture. He is venerated as captain of the heavenly army, victor over Satan (Revelation Ch.12), protector of the Church and helper of the sick and dying.
Feast day: 29th September is shared with the Archangels Gabriel and Raphael.
