Archbishop Romero Cross
Colourful hand-made wooden crosses from a fairly-traded co-operative in El Salvador.
It features Archbishop Oscar Romero a champion of justice and peace who was murdered as he celebrated Mass on 24th March 1980 in El Salvador's Chapel of Divine Providence.
On 3rd February 2015 Pope Francis declared Archbishop Romero a martyr for the faith bringing forward the process for his beatification (the first step in the process of declaring a saint).
Peace is not the product of terror or fear.
Peace is not the silence of cemeteries.
Peace is not the silent result of violent repression.
Peace is the generous,
tranquil contribution of all
to the good of all.
Peace is dynamism.
Peace is generosity.
It is right and it is duty. Archbishop Oscar Romero
