A Meditation programme with accompanying PowerPoint slide shows by the Benedictine Sisters of Turvey Abbey.
The PowerPoint Presentation 'Be Still' introduces children and their teachers to a variety of meditative approaches to prayer. Young children have an innate capacity for quiet, reflective prayer and respond well to traditional meditative techniques. These meditations on CD-Rom are based on The Senses, The Old Testament and The New Testament and can be used as part of an RE or catechetical programme or as stand alone sessions.
'Be Still' offers a range of reflective exercises which are designed to build upon childrens' natural gifts and also to introduce them to traditional forms of Christian meditation.
Prepared from personal experience by a sister of Turvey Abbey who was a school teacher before studying theology and becoming a Benedictine and who also provides in service training and support for teachers.
